Ecosulis’s has been appointed by the University of Cambridge’s Sustainability Leader programme to produce a casestudy into the externalities of corn production. The valuation of externalities is important to understand how sustainable an activity is when non monetised aspects are included.

ISIS is the methodology devised and used to aid conservation management in Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), specifically by establishing the presence/absence and quality of specific Species Assemblage Types. However, as a tool for analysing species lists it has numerous other uses.

Various approaches, for instance conservation offsetting, green Infrastructure design, the countywide management of biodiversity require that biodiversity and ecosystem services are assigned a value - does this have to be a monetary value or does MCA maybe provide a more appropriate tool?

Ecosulis is pleased to announce that Dr Alan Feest our Scientific Advisor has been appointed by the Greek Deputy Minister for Education, Life Long Learning and Religious Affairs Prof. John Panaretos, to act as an external reviewer for the research program 'Archimedes III', which aims at the 'Enhancement of Research Groups at the Technological Educational Institutes of Greece'. This builds upon the work he has undertaken on behalf of the Russian, German and Serbian Governments.
