Ecological consultants of Ecosulis staff are full members of what is now the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. We also have four members of staff who are Chartered in their own right.

The Royal Charter was enacted on 1 April 2013 meaning from this date they became the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. Membership now belongs to a professional body recognised for its work by HM Queen Elizabeth II and which operates under the scrutiny of the Privy Council, ensuring the very highest of professional standards. To quote the Privy Council website “New grants of Royal Charters are these days reserved for eminent professional bodies or charities that have a solid record of achievement and are financially sound.

Included within the Charter is the power to establish a new Register of Chartered Ecologists (CEcol). CEcol will be open to all who qualify, not just CIEEM members. CIEEM would have responsibility for maintaining this Register, establishing the competence requirements, assessing and admitting registrants. Registrants will have the authority to describe themselves as a Chartered Ecologist and use the additional postnominals of CEcol. Further details will be available via the CIEEM webstite, http://www.cieem.net/ and in In Practice
