Following an invitation for Ecosulis to be part of the newly created All Party Parliamentary Group for Biodiversity, we attended the launch of the group at the House of Commons on 19 July 2011. Managing to avoid the crowds and the custard pies being launched at Rupert Murdoch next door the afternoon was very successful and bodes well for promoting biodiversity issues at the heart of decision making....

Ecosulis has had a great start in 2011 and is delighted to have been awarded two prestigious habitat creation projects in quick succession. Following a competitive tendering process, Ecosulis were selected by the Environment Agency and are now mobilising teams to complete the work within the critical timeframes available.

Ecosulis attended the above seminar on 3 December 2010, which is the first of many proposed by the University of Exeter’s ‘Big Dilemmas’ project. There was a strong opinion from some panelists and members of the audience that as well as promoting and supporting renewable energy schemes to increase the percentage of renewables in the energy mix, it is critical that action is taken now to reduce carbon emissions/energy consumption within the home, workplace and from the products and materials we use.

The Government’s drive towards zero carbon housing took a major step forward with the announcement that from the 1 May 2008 all new homes are to be rated on their green credentials as part of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
