Our role: Ecosulis was commissioned to undertaken comprehensive surveys of the M4 corridor between Junction 16 and Blackhorse Bridge, adjacent to the Wichelstowe development area near Swindon.
The data collected was used to undertake an ecological impact assessment in accordance with the guidelines from the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM) and those published within the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB). Mitigation measures were recommended within the impact assessment report aiming to enable upgrading to structures along the M4, while ensuring important species are protected. The work undertaken by ecosulis ltd formed part of a full Environmental Impact Assessment of the scheme, managed by WSP Environmental, which assessed the project’s likely significant environmental impacts.
