The proposals were to develop 57ha site comprising approximately 950 houses with associated service infrastructure and amenities, including transportation links (bus lanes, a Park and Ride, cycle/pedestrian links), a school and 42ha Country Park.

Ecosulis have been involved in this project from its inception, utilizing both our consulting and countryside management services. Ecosulis countryside management undertook all aspects of habitat creation for water vole including construction of Rhynes, turf cutting and translocation, formation of bunds, hydroseeding using a seed mix of local native provenance, translocating emergent vegetation and erecting water vole exclusion fencing to create a holding pen. Our team was involved in the ongoing maintenance of the created habitat over 12 months.

Consultants of Ecosulis also undertook all of the baseline ecological surveys at the site and formulated impact assessments, mitigation strategies and management plans for a range of habitats and protected species including great crested newt, bats, badger and water vole.
