Biomass Research

The British countryside in much of the UK is dominated by agricultural use. The proposal to plant many hectares of biomass crops to mitigate carbon emissions could see a dramatic transformation of the UK countryside and have an inevitable impact on biodiversity.

In order to assess the possible biodiversity effect of such a shift to biomass crops, Ecosulis has contracted a PhD student under the supervision of Dr Feest to undertake a project focusing on the measurement of invertebrate biodiversity.

As a result of this research Ecosulis will have developed significant resources in biodiversity measurement.
