Impact assessment & mitigation

Staff at ecosulis ltd are able to undertake detailed Impact Assessments in relation to potential development sites. These exercises determine the nature and extent of ecological impacts towards individual species and habitats at specific sites in relation to proposed activities. Impact Assessments undertaken by ecosulis ltd follow up-to-date methodologies to a standard recognised by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. ecosulis ltd often prepare Impact Assessments in relation to ecological features as part of Environmental Statements.

The comprehensive range of services offered by ecosulis ltd ensures that detailed mitigation strategies are provided to meet the needs of statutory consultees to ensure that planning permissions are granted, where appropriate. These mitigation measures can be subsequently implemented by ecosulis ltd and, for example, may include habitat creation, species translocation, and controlled habitat destruction such as sett closure and pond clearance. These are all undertaken according to guidance from the statutory consultees and other relevant nature conservation organisations.

Where required, ecosulis ltd will also prepare and submit licence applications to undertake works that may otherwise cause an offence under national legislation such as the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), Badger Protection Act 1992 and the Conservation (Natural Habitats & c.) (Amendment) Regulations 2007.
